Are you bored with your routine workout sessions? If so, do not worry, you are one among the many who give up after a short stint at repetitive exercise sessions. Running, cycling or swimming can become boring after some time. It is, however, important to stick to a fitness schedule to feel its effects on your body.

If you are one of those who find it harder and harder to get motivated for your next exercise session, try Pole Workouts. Pole dancing first started off at gentleman’s clubs and bars as a form of an erotic sideshow. But today, it is gaining relevance as a form of fitness exercise.

From losing weight to gaining strength, many enthusiasts are adding Pole Workouts to their exercising routine.

It makes an entertaining change to an otherwise boring, repetitive workout. It gives you as much workout to your whole body as any best folding elliptical can offer.

For those entering into the entertaining world of Pole Workouts, here are 7 preparation tips to consider before you start Pole Workouts:

Table of Contents

  • 1. Learn to grip well early on
  • 2. Practice choreography and good movement
  • 3. Avoid comparison initially
  • 4. Do off the pole training
  • 5. Buy the best pole gear you can afford
  • 6. Warm-up and cool-down properly
  • 7. Surround yourself with people who love Pole Workouts

1. Learn to grip well early on

It is important to strengthen your forearms and hands to grip well early on. Avoid using gripping aids such as iTac or Dry Hands early while learning.

Developing a strong grip without any aid will make you much better at pole dancing.

Using grips early on will make your hands more susceptible to painful skin rips!Use aids only if your instructor recommends one.

2. Practice choreography and good movement

It is hugely advantageous if you have a background in contemporary dance or ballet, if not start practicing choreography and dance moves initially. This will be of immense help when you hit the pole.

3. Avoid comparison initially

Your peers may include people from having different backgrounds such as martial arts, fitness, or dance.

Some may have hardly any experience in anything. Initially, it may seem that some people are making rapid progress.

Don’t let that worry you. Your pole journey is unique. Keep that in mind always.

4. Do off the pole training

Making your limbs and core strong and supple will massively improve your skills at Pole Workouts. Hit the gym if you have a membership. Concentrate on strengthening the muscles of your upper body.

Or if you have space at home, practice your headstands and splits. Do your body waves in front of a mirror. Practice helps massively in making you learn faster.

5. Buy the best pole gear you can afford

Good pole gear is not expensive! However, it makes sense if you do some research beforehand. There are many pole dedicated brands for you to choose from.

Speak to your instructor, get reviews from experienced polers, and importantly compare brands online.

At the end of the day, it must be something that you are most comfortable with. Many popular brands have flash sales now and then.

If you are vigilant, you can do something of superior quality for very little!

6. Warm-up and cool-down properly

Many people underestimate the importance of warming up and cooling down after a strenuous exercise session.

Remember that Pole Workouts are extremely strenuous. Before you start a session, it is necessary to warm-up properly.

Your joints and muscles require time to get ready for the high-impact pole sessions. If not, you run the risk of seriously injuring yourself.

Cooling-down after a session is equally important. It reduces the light-headedness some people experience after an intense workout session and also reduces muscle soreness.

Both warming up and cooling down will help you perform better while keeping you injury-free.

7. Surround yourself with people who love Pole Workouts

Having a set of enthusiastic polers around you will go a long way in making your training session effective.

The love towards pole dancing is infectious and will rub off on you. You will be constantly motivated to push yourself.

In case of an off-day, you have people around you who know exactly how you feel to offer you encouragement and support.

All this positivity is important, especially in the beginning. Many newbies leave the sport early on due to a lack of support.

Apart from the emotional support, from all those passionate pole dancers around you, you will easily pick up new moves and techniques.

You will get information about better gear choices and also can indulge in group buys, drastically cutting down expenses!

Enjoy Pole Workouts and learn to love it like the people around you! Please regularly visit lisscardio.com to get useful information for exercise!
